Supporting Our Community,

One Project at a Time

At Da Vinci’s Dream Animal Rescue, our mission goes beyond rescue and adoption — it’s about uplifting the entire community of people and animals who call Kentucky home.

Through our community projects, we work to improve the lives of animals in need and support the shelters, volunteers, and neighborhoods that care for them. From building insulated winter shelters for community dogs and cats to improving facilities at local shelters, each project is driven by compassion, teamwork, and the belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

We strive to alleviate suffering wherever we can, whether it’s through hands-on improvement projects, resource sharing, or partnerships with other organizations working toward the same goal.

Together, we’re building a stronger, kinder community — one project, one paw, and one heart at a time.

Lifesaving Support

Transport Van Donation

Reliable transportation saves lives. Through community support and fundraising efforts, Da Vinci’s Dream helped provide a dedicated transport van to Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter to assist with animal rescue, medical transfers, adoption transport, and emergency response efforts.

This project helps connect homeless animals with rescues, adopters, veterinary care, and safe placements more efficiently across Kentucky and beyond.

The transport van represents the power of collaboration, community support, and a shared mission to help animals in need.

Community Outreach

Feral Cat Winter House Project

For the past two years, Da Vinci’s Dream Animal Rescue has worked alongside volunteers and community supporters to build and distribute more than 200 insulated outdoor cat shelters for stray and feral cats across Kentucky. These shelters help provide warmth, protection, and safer resting spaces during harsh winter weather, offering vulnerable community cats a better chance at surviving freezing temperatures.

What began as a small local outreach effort has grown into a larger community initiative focused on humane support, compassion, and reducing suffering for outdoor animals.

Through our partnership with Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter, Da Vinci’s Dream Animal Rescue has worked alongside volunteers and supporters to complete facility improvement projects designed to create safer, cleaner, and more comfortable environments for homeless animals in Eastern Kentucky.

From installing new drainage systems and concrete pads to replacing damaged shelter doors with brighter, more functional spaces, these projects reflect our commitment to improving the quality of life for animals both inside and outside of rescue care.

Clinton County Animal Control Outreach Project

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local shelters and improving animal welfare throughout Kentucky, Da Vinci’s Dream volunteers spent a day assisting Clinton County Animal Control through hands-on cleaning, outreach, and care efforts.

Our team deep cleaned kennels, scrubbed the cat and laundry areas, walked dogs, and donated food to help support the animals and shelter staff caring for them each day. These projects help create cleaner, healthier, and less stressful environments for homeless animals while providing meaningful support to local shelters working tirelessly for their communities.

Rescue Missions

Mount Olivet Neglect Case Rescue

In January 2024, Da Vinci’s Dream Animal Rescue worked alongside multiple rescue organizations and local officials to help save 14 adult dogs from severe neglect conditions in Mount Olivet, Kentucky. The dogs were found living in dangerous and unsanitary conditions, suffering from extreme matting, malnutrition, untreated medical issues, and long-term neglect.

Following rescue, the dogs received urgent veterinary care, rehabilitation, grooming, nutrition, and trauma-informed support as they began their journey toward healing and recovery. This case highlights the importance of community reporting, rescue collaboration, and advocating for animals trapped in neglect situations.
