At Da Vinci’s Dream Animal Rescue, we believe rescue is about more than saving lives in the moment — it’s about building the systems and support needed to give animals a real chance at a better future.
In 2025, through the generosity of our supporters and community partnerships, Da Vinci’s Dream helped provide a dedicated transport van to Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter (KRRAS) in Hazard, Kentucky.
This project was more than a vehicle donation. It was an investment in lifesaving outreach, rescue collaboration, emergency response, and the future of animal welfare in Eastern Kentucky.
Transportation is one of the most important — and often overlooked — parts of animal rescue.
For shelters serving rural communities, reliable transport can mean the difference between:
Many shelters face overwhelming challenges with limited resources, staffing, and funding. Reliable transportation helps create more opportunities for lifesaving placement, rescue partnerships, and humane support efforts.
Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter works tirelessly to care for homeless and vulnerable animals throughout Eastern Kentucky. Through our partnership with KRRAS, Da Vinci’s Dream has supported multiple community and shelter improvement projects designed to improve conditions for animals and strengthen lifesaving efforts in the region.
The transport van helps support:
Reliable transportation allows shelters and rescues to work together more effectively, helping animals reach safety faster and opening doors for additional lifesaving opportunities.
As a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, projects like this are only possible because of the compassion and generosity of our community.
Every adoption, donation, volunteer hour, foster home, and fundraiser helps make larger outreach efforts possible — not only for the animals directly in our care, but also for shelters and communities working every day to help vulnerable animals.
This transport van represents the power of collaboration, community support, and people coming together with a shared mission: to create brighter futures for animals in need.
