Da Vinci's Dream welcomes adoptive families from various locations, including Gradyville and its surrounding areas. Our volunteers regularly conduct transports to Wilmington,Ohio and Greenwood, Indiana, typically at least once a month. Our primary objective is to create the perfect rescue match, considering both the animal's history and your family's requirements. Each animal is unique, with distinct personality traits, temperaments, energy levels, interactions with children and other pets, and medical considerations. We meticulously evaluate all these factors to ensure a long-lasting match in their forever home. Our commitment to responsible placements means we strive to connect the right animal with the right adoptive family, aiming for a permanent and loving home.

Process

At Da Vinci's Dream, we have a carefully designed adoption process that aims to ensure the best possible match between our rescue animals and their forever families. Our process is rooted in compassion, thorough evaluation, and a commitment to the well-being of every animal in our care.

1. Application:

The first step in our adoption process is to complete our detailed adoption application. This application helps us understand your preferences, lifestyle, and expectations as a pet owner. We encourage you to provide honest and thoughtful responses to assist us in finding the perfect companion for you.

2. Review and Contact:

Once we receive your application, our dedicated team will review it carefully. Please understand that we typically receive several applications for each of our pets. We are not first come, first serve; instead, we review all applications and select the best fit for our animals. We may reach out to you to gather additional information or clarify any details. Please be patient during this stage as we strive to ensure a suitable match for both you and our rescue animals.

3. Meet and Greet:

If your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet with the rescue animal you are interested in. This meeting allows you to interact with the animal, learn more about their personality, and see if there is a connection. It is essential for both you and the animal to feel comfortable and bond during this initial meeting.

4. Adoption Fee and Paperwork:

If the meet and greet is successful, we will proceed with the adoption. We request an adoption fee, which helps cover the cost of veterinary care, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and other expenses incurred during the animal's time with us. We will provide you with all necessary paperwork, including an adoption agreement.

For out-of-state adoptions, additional fees will apply. We are required to obtain health certificates before the animal crosses state lines, which incurs extra costs. Therefore, we do require an extra fee to cover this, which will be paid upfront as a deposit. These fees are necessary as we must obtain the health certificate in advance, and they are made out with the information of the adopter. 5. Transition and Support:

After the adoption is finalized, we believe in providing ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your new companion. Our team will be available to answer any questions or address concerns you may have as you welcome your new family member into your home.
