Each winter, countless community cats face freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and harsh weather conditions with nowhere warm or safe to shelter. At Da Vinci’s Dream Animal Rescue, we believe every animal deserves warmth, comfort, and compassion — including the vulnerable cats living outdoors in our communities.
For the past two years, our volunteers and supporters have come together to build and distribute more than 200 insulated feral cat shelters throughout Kentucky to help stray and community cats survive the coldest months of the year.
These shelters may be simple, but they make a lifesaving difference.
Designed to provide protection from freezing temperatures, wind, rain, and snow, insulated cat houses offer outdoor cats a safer place to rest, conserve body heat, and escape dangerous winter conditions.
Want to help community cats in your own neighborhood?
We encourage others to join this effort by building insulated shelters for outdoor cats using affordable and accessible materials. Even one small shelter can make a tremendous difference during freezing weather.

We are incredibly grateful to every volunteer, donor, foster, and community member who has helped make this initiative possible.
Compassion changes lives — even in the smallest shelters.
