Some adoptions feel especially meaningful—not just because of the dog, but because of the people who open their hearts again.
Bridget’s story is one of those.
When Bridget came into our care at Da Vinci’s Dream, we knew the right home would make all the difference. That home came in the form of Carmen and Jose—a family we already knew and trusted.
Two years earlier, they adopted Oscar (formerly Benji) from us, and we’ve loved watching him thrive in their home ever since.
They understand rescue. They live it.
Recently, their beloved dog Sunny passed away. Her loss left a deep void—not only for Carmen and Jose, but especially for Oscar, who had always enjoyed having a canine companion.
While Sunny could never be replaced, their family knew their home—and their hearts—still had room to love another dog.
That’s when Bridget came into their lives.
Bridget stepped into a home where dogs are truly part of the family.
She now enjoys:
Their dogs have free roam of the house, often join them on errands, and are fully included in everyday life. Even their adult children visit often and love spending time with the pups.
And best of all—Bridget now has Oscar.
Oscar, her new canine sibling, has welcomed Bridget into the family, giving her a companion to play with, bond with, and grow alongside.
Homes like this—where dogs have companionship, structure, and love—are exactly what we hope for with every placement.
Now lovingly renamed Poppy, Bridget has settled beautifully into her new life.
Her family shared that they feel incredibly lucky to have both Poppy and Oscar, and that both dogs bring so much joy into their home.
Hearing that she is thriving, loved, and happy is exactly why we do what we do.
Poppy’s story is a wonderful example of what happens when experienced adopters open their hearts again.
For those searching for Da Vinci’s Dream reviews or wondering what it’s like to adopt through our rescue, stories like Poppy’s show the lasting relationships and successful placements we strive for every day.
Bridget—now Poppy—has found a home filled with love, companionship, and joy.
And we couldn’t be happier for her. 💕🐾
