Adoption Fee Information

At da Vinci's Dream and Animal Rescue, we are committed to finding loving homes for all our animals, regardless of their breed, age, or size. Our adoption fees are dynamic and tailored to various factors such as species, breed, demand, and geographical location. This allows us to support our mission while ensuring fair and accessible adoptions for all.

Finding Adoption Fee Information:

To view the adoption fees for our animals, please navigate to the "Dogs" or "Cats" tab and select "Available Dogs" or "Available Cats." From there, click on the profile of the animal you are interested in. The adoption fee for each animal is listed on their individual profile page.

Please note that the adoption fees listed are for in-state adoptions within Kentucky. Out-of-state adoptions will incur additional fees.

The additional charges for out-of-state adoptions must be paid upfront as a deposit. All animals being adopted out of state require health certificates before crossing state lines. We have to pay for these health certificates in advance, and they can only be used for the adopter our vet registers them to. Because of this, we require a nonrefundable deposit for all animals being adopted out of state. This deposit helps us cover the cost of the health certificate should someone back out. We cannot afford to cover these costs.

Factors Influencing Adoption Fees:

Breed, Size, and Age: Adoption fees may vary based on factors such as breed, size, and age. Small purebred or designer breed dogs may have higher fees, while larger mixed breeds could have more accessible adoption costs.

Desirability and Demand: We strive to find homes for animals traditionally considered less desirable, such as black cats, large breed dogs, and senior dogs. To facilitate their adoption, we may reduce fees for these companions. Conversely, popular breeds like Frenchies or Cavaliers may have slightly higher fees due to demand.

Geographical Location: For adoptions outside of Kentucky, additional costs like health certificates and transportation expenses may apply. These measures are crucial to ensuring the safe and comfortable journey of our animals to their new homes.

Rescuing Animals from Harsh Conditions:

Our dynamic adoption fees allow us to cover the diverse needs of our animals, especially those rescued from harsh conditions. Varying fees enable us to address the unique challenges faced by each individual, ensuring they receive the care, attention, and resources necessary for a smooth transition to a loving home.

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Da Vinci's Dream cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the dogs. At adoption, Da Vinci's Dream dogs will be current on their vaccines and will have the following:

Dogs

Rabies (1 yr. or 3 yr.)
Distemper (DAPPvL2)
Bordetella
Negative Heartworm Test
Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered **
Micro-chipped
Microchip QR Tag
Nexgard
Interceptor Plus
Martingale Collar

Cats

Rabies & FVRCP
Test for Feline Leukemia & AIDS
Worming
Flea/Ear Mite treatments
Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered **

Flea Treatment

** Please note, puppies over 4 months and 4 pounds, and kittens over 3 months and 3 pounds will be spayed/neutered in our care. If the puppy or kitten being adopted has not met these requirements, the adopter will be responsible for arranging and covering the costs of the spaying/neutering procedure once the animal reaches the appropriate age and weight.

Additionally, we require that the adopter provide Da Vinci's Dream with proof of the completed spaying/neutering procedure within 15 days of the procedure being performed, such as a receipt. Our team will follow up with the adopter to confirm that the procedure has been completed as part of our commitment to responsible pet ownership.

Please be advised that failure to comply with these requirements constitutes a breach of contract. In such cases, Da Vinci's Dream reserves the right to reclaim the animal in question.
